Call for Papers

Sixth ACM/IEEE International Symposium on Networks-on-Chip

May 9-11, 2012

Copenhagen, Denmark

The International Symposium on Networks-on-Chip (NOCS) is the premier event dedicated to interdisciplinary research on on-chip communication technology, architecture, design methods and applications. NOCS aims at bringing together scientists and engineers working on NoC innovations from inter-related research communities, including computer architecture, networking, circuits and systems, embedded systems, and design automation. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  1. ‣  Network architecture (topology, routing, arbitration)

  2. ‣  Network design for 3D stacked logic and memory

  3. ‣  Mapping of applications onto NoCs

  4. ‣  Power and energy issues

  5. ‣  Timing, synchronous/asynchronous communication

  6. ‣  NoC reliability issues

  7. ‣  OS support for NoCs

  8. ‣  Programming models

  9. ‣  Multi/many-core workload characterization & evaluation

  10. ‣  Network interface issues

  11. ‣  NoC case studies, application-specific NoC design

  12. ‣  Modeling, simulation, and synthesis of NoCs

  13. ‣  NoC support for memory and cache access

  14. ‣  NoC design methodologies and tools

  15. ‣  NoC Quality of Service

  16. ‣  NoCs for FPGAs and structured ASICs

  17. ‣  NoC support for CMP/MPSoCs

  18. ‣  Novel interconnect links/switches/routers

  19. ‣  Optical & RF for on-chip/in-package interconnects

  20. ‣  Signaling and circuit design for NoC links

  21. ‣  Physical design of interconnect and NoC

  22. ‣  Verification, debug & test of NoCs

  23. ‣  Metrics and benchmarks for NoCs

Electronic paper submission requires a full paper, up to 8 double-column IEEE format pages, including figures and references.  Papers will be evaluated by the program committee in a blind review process based on scientific merit, innovation, relevance, and presentation. Submitted papers must describe original work that has not been published before or is under review by another conference at the same time. Each submission will be checked for any significant similarity to previously published works or for simultaneous submission to other archival venues, and such papers will be rejected. Furthermore, NOCS will notify the technical chair of the venue where the duplicate was submitted. Please see the paper submission instructions for details.

Proposals for tutorials, special sessions, panels are also invited. Please see the detailed submission instructions for paper, tutorial, special sessions, and panel proposals at the submission page. A special section related to the theme of the conference will be organized in one of the IEEE journals.
