Iterative Methods for Large Linear Systems

The program for the course is as follows:

  • 1. Introduction and Fundamentals
  • 2. Krylov methods
  • 3. Projection methods and Domain Decomposition
  • 4. Multigrid solvers and preconditioning
  • 5. Applications, Newton-Krylov methods for nonlinear problems
  • All lectures and exercises will take place in Building 321 Room 033.

    Social event

    We will meet thursday afternoon at 16.00 next to the fountain (Dragespringvandet) at RĂdhuspladsen (click on locations to see place in google map in browser).

    Everyone will need to transport themselves to the above-mentioned destination. A recommended 35 minutes travelplan is detailed here: Rejseplanen.pdf. Tickets can be bought in advance, e.g. at http://www.1415.dk/(Type from "DTU" to "RĂdhuspladsen").

    After assembly we will be guided for a 2-hour walk in the historical city centre by our experienced guide Hans True. The tour will end at StrĂget from which we will proceed to a restaurant in FiolstrĂde 2 for a dinner.
