On Forward Model Uncertainty in EEG Source Localization

AbstractWe give two quantitative contributions to electroencephalography (EEG) source localization. First, we investigate how erroneous forward models influence current density source reconstruction. Second, we present the first
unified hierarchical Bayesian framework that simultaneously reconstructs the sources and the forward model. Modeling the uncertainties involved in the forward model, i.e. the representation of the conductivity distribution, the cortical surface, and the electrode locations, has the potential of giving better source location.
