Statistical framework for decision making in mine action

AbstractThe lecture discusses the basics of statistical decision making in connection with humanitarian mine action. There is special focus on: 1) requirements for mine detection; 2) design and evaluation and confidence of mine equipment; 3) efficient mine action by hierarchical approaches; 4) performance improvement by statistical learning and information fusion; 5) the advantage of using combined methods.
