For the coming DTUsat-2 student satellite (dtusat.dtu.dk) a revision of the existing Mission Planning System (MPS) should be made. The MPS is the main tool for planning the operations of the satellite using an intuitive graphical user interface.
The MPS should work as a client to the existing Mission Control Centre, (MCC) that handles the transfer of information with the satellite via a Ground Station.
The MPS is to be implemented in Java primarily using RMI for server communication. The system must use (and modify as needed) existing interfaces and program components.
In this project, emphasis should be on ensuring the the performance for large sets of mission data using techniques like caching.
