Bachelorprojekt - Softwareteknologi | Project No. 0122: A game for teaching mathematics in elementary school |
Aktuelle | Tidligere |
This project is about writing a software application for teaching mathematics at elementary school level using a game-like environment. The person who will act as "the customer" is a mathematics teacher developing strategies for improvement of mathematical reasoning of pupils aged 5-12. These pupils are the target group of the game, and, to evaluate their skill level, the game needs to provide tracking and analysis of the player's performance. For ease of use, the game should run in most commonly used browsers. The platform of implementation could be HTML5, a Java applet, or some other platform depending on your preferences. The game we propose has the purpose of improving the pupil's understanding of the base-10 positional numeral system. The concept is to have the user sort animated number-bubbles into bins. This should be done in an interactive (possibly multiplayer) environment. The precise game concept that you will be working with in the project must be decided in collaboration with "the customer".
