Bachelorprojekt - Softwareteknologi | Project No. 0075: Texture mapping and retexturing |
Aktuelle | Tidligere |
Using a state-of-the-art 3D surface scanner scans of human heads from many different angles have been captured. The goal of this is to merge this scans into a single complete scan. The 3D scanner captures both the geometry (triangle mesh) and the texture (2D colour image) of the face. The goal of his project is to combine the textures from all the different scans into one complete texture that matches the geometry. Since there are different light and reflectance conditions a simple stitching is not always optimal and more advanced methods should be employed. The project involves texture mapping, 3D geometry and image blending.
The project can potentially be done using Matlab. However, most advanced 3D toolkits are based on C++. Knowledge of image analysis or computer graphics is required. An existing tool called Sumatra is available. It can be used to view and manipulate 3D surfaces. Parts of the project can be performed using Sumatra.
