DTUsat-2 is the next DTU student satellite expected to be launched in 2012/2013. The scientific mission of the satellite is to collect information about bird migration (see www.dtusat.dtu.dk).
Communication with the satellite takes place via a ground station with antennas and radios controlled by a ground station control system. Such a system has previously been developed, but needs to be upgraded in order to cope with two antenna/radio systems simultaneously.
In this project, the ground station control server should be redesigned in order to fulfil the new requirements. Also the graphical operator panel interfacing to the server needs to be improved. Finally iPhone/Android applications for remote control may be added.
The server should be implemented in Java. The graphical parts involve basic use of OpenGL.
