Uffe Høgsbro Thygesen
M.Sc. & Eng., Ph.D.
External lecturer at IMM, DTU
Senior research scientist at DTU
Aqua (formerly known as DIFRES, the Danish Institute for Fisheries Research)
I conduct research at DTU Aqua in
stochastic dynamic models in marine biology, oceanography, and
fisheries. Contact me for details, if you are interested, have a
look at my publications, or look at my
CV.
Methodological areas of expertise
Probability theory, Stochastic processes, Markov processes, Diffusion
processes, Analysis, estimation, and control, Dynamic systems, Optimisation.
Examples of applications
Dispersion of particles in ocean currents, optimal life histories of
fish, flow and transport around zooplankton, spatial pattern formation
in ecosystems, estimation of movement
and behaviour patterns of fish based on Data Storage Tags.
Teaching
I am involved in three courses offered by DTU Aqua:
Please send me a mail if you are interested in hearing more about
any of these courses.
I have previously been teaching the following courses at IMM:
Student projects
I have a list of projects, suitable for students at all levels. The
common theme is that the problem originates from the sea, and must be
solved with theory of stochastic processes. DTU students may search for projects in the project database
with may name
here.
Alternatively, contact me by
e-mail if you are interested.
An earlier list of projects, which may still serve as inspiration, lives at the Catalogue of Student
Projects at DTU Aqua.
