Rasmus R. Paulsen

I am an associate professor at the Section for Image Analysis and Computer Graphics (IACG) at the Department for Mathematical Modelling (IMM) at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU).

I did an industrial PhD at the Danish hearing aid company Oticon A/S, where the topic was the modelling and analysis of the shape of the human ear canal for use in hearing aid design. The thesis was done in collaboration with DTU Informatics and the French research institute INRIA Sophia-Antipolis. Following the thesis, I was employed by Oticon A/S to implement part of my thesis work in production prototypes. In February 2008, I received a three years research grant from the Oticon Foundation that partly funded my initial employment at DTU. My research interests include surface based medical image analysis, computational geometry, and the application of advanced image analysis in clinical environments. I am responsible for courses in medical image analysis and I supervise several PhD, master, and bachelor students.

An introduction (in Danish) to some of my research can be seen on Danskernes Akademi, in Ingeniøren and on Harddisken.
