I am currently (since 1st of April 2006) working on my PhD at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), Department of Informatics and Mathematical Modelling (IMM).

My project concerns multivariate statistical analyses of problems with many variables in relation to the number of observations. Amongst others I am looking into objective identification of fungi to the species level. The following article on my project was in the DTU newspaper, November 2007: DTU avisen, p. 5.

A brooche of the fungi created by Claus Bjerring for my graduation, and my husband and I:

SparseLDA: Software for the algorithms of sparse discriminant analysis (SDA) and sparse mixture discriminant analysis (SMDA) are available in Matlab and R. Please refer to the article: Clemmensen, L., Hastie, T., and Ersbøll, B., Sparse discriminant analysis, 2008 [pdf] when using them. [Matlab package] [R package]. The sparseLDA package builds on the elastic net package which in R can be dowloaded from CRAN, and in Matlab, Karl Sjöstrand's implementation can be dowloaded here: [larsen matlab package].
