IBM T.J. Watson Research Center, USA. Fred gave an IMM/UNI1#1C
seminar on "A New Parallel Algorithm for Tridiagonal Symmetric
Positive Definite Systems of Equations".
We discussed the IBM/UNI1#1C/Umeå/UTK
collaboration on Linear Algebra With Recursive Algorithms (LAWRA)
project. We also had a meeting with the local IBM
representatives and Tor Bloch. Fred was an invited speaker at the
LAWRA Workshop December 3-4 1999. He visited us in June 19-29,
November 27-30 and December 1-5 1999.

Plamen had temporally been employed at UNI1#1C for 3
months developing the Recursive Matrix Factorization Algorithm
with Bunch-Kaufman pivoting, where the matrix is symmetric and
indefinite. Plamen is also involved in LAPACK90 project. He developed
series of test programs for LAPACK90. He was also involved in developing
examples for the LAPACK90 Users' Guide. Plamen was an
invited speaker at the LAWRA Workshop December 3-4 1999.
He visited us June 15-30, July, August and September 1-15, November and
December 1999.

and PARA96 Workshops. Jack visited UNI1#1C for several days
around the Workshops. August 1995 and August 1996. I also run a few
projects with Jack, for example LAPACK90, test programs for ScaLAPACK,
NetSolve.

Sven implemented the PVM Parallel NAG Library for the UNI1#1C
SGI Power
Challenge computer. We also have another collaborations, for example
LAPACK90. Sven visited me in July 1995 for a week.

Oxford, England. Ken implemented the PVM Parallel NAG Library for
the IBM SP2 computer and introduced it for the UNI1#1C users.
Ken visited UNI1#1C in August 1995 for two weeks.
- Stefano Salvini, Numerical Algorithms Group Ltd.,
Oxford, England. He experimented LAPACK for SMP computers using
UNI1#1C SGI Power Challenge. Stefano visited UNI1#1C
three times. December 1995, May 1996 and August 1996 for a few
(two, three) weeks.
- L. Susan Blackford,
University of Tennessee Knoxville, Tennessee, USA. Susan
worked for LAPACK and ScaLAPACK. She made a ScaLAPACK tutorial on
PARA96. I have collaboration on LAPACK90. Two weeks in August 1996.

gave a seminar on NetSolve. A few days in December 1997.
