 
 
- This was also the first full year where we could enjoy the
  massive "alterations" to the garden: 
- a "waterfall" of steps and
  walkways from our main terrace down to the main lawn.
- a green house - yet to be fully "exploited" -- 2010 ! 
 
- We had a new hedge of Japanese cherry-laurels planted,
      at then end of the garden, 
      instead of an apple-rose hedge that never evolved.
- Then in the November storm our grandest of trees, the 45
  feet  (15 meter) fir  at the end of the garden succumbed to the storm.

  was in Japan - but Kari saw to it: our landscape gardener brothers
  cleaned up and extended an already large rhodendendron area where
  the tree stood. You can see the tree shadow on the photo below left.
