As you will have read, we visited many restaurants:
Two leftmost below are from Restaurant Petit France
and the rightmost is from the North Bridge Brasserie, or, as I
prefer to call it, the Scotsman Brasserie, in the old bldg. of the
grand Scottish newspaper, The Scotsman.
The next many photos are from Glasgow and are all taken by Kari.
Mon./Tue. 19/20 Oct. I gave seminars at the universities of
Strathclyde and Glasgow, both in Glasgow. We stayed, one night, in a very nice
hotel, Abode.
And had a very dinner at Two Fat
Ladies
around
the corner. Kari saw "all" the museum, was particularly
enthusiastic about The Glasgow School of
Art
designed by Rennie Mackintosh.
Left photo show Kari at our dinner in the poshest
restaurant in Edinburgh: Number One.
Cannot be recommended: The Amuse Bouche, two different
sets of consecutive servings were exquisite.
But the (meat of the) starter and the main courses were
basically without taste.
Right photo shows Kari having a Margarita at Brown's.
With George Hay, a friend of us for almost 40 years, we had
lunch on Wedn. 21 Oct., Dines' late father Ivar's 105th "anniverary",
at The
Kitchin
in
Leith. Fabulous.
You can just see a bit of George as he takes our photo.
