This segment of my speech shall also be
understood in the context of the UNU rector's earlier address. In
that address he said that (1) UNU-IIST in its early days were focused on
formal methods, (2) that now UNU-IIST would be empowering nations
towards self-reliance and sustainability, and (3) that UNU-IIST
would be "twinning" with foreign universities.
