Consulting Services
Statistician On-Call (SOC): This service is open for quick
questions on straightforward issues such as how to compute simple
statistics and/or how to read data into standard software. Often,
however, it turns out that what is supposed to be a quick question in
reality needs a more in depth discussion. Anyway, you are invited to
call on us, and we will either solve your problem on the spot or make
an arrangement to your needs. The SOC is open to students and research
staff at DTU free of charge and to others on an hourly fee basis. For
more information on the SOC, please see the SOC-page.
Short term consulting typically consists of two meetings
with a consultant each meeting lasting an hour or two. During the
first meeting your problem is discussed and possible solutions are
outlined. Your data are reviewed if you have any, or possible
strategies (design) for your investigation are discussed, for
example. We strongly encourage you to contact us before you collect
your data - that enables us to give you a better advice compared to
what is possible afterwards.
Long term consulting Various types of long term consulting
are possible: collaboration, advice, analysis, interpretation and
reporting. Generally a fee is payed, but a reduction is given in many
cases: DTU financed research and non-profit research, for example. For
joint projects with joint publication generally only direct expenses
are payed. This service is offered to everybody, but our capacity is
still limited. However you are invited to contact through the Contact
us form for a discussion about possibilities.
Research methods lectures: The ISCC offers to visit
research methods classes or groups to introduce topics likely to be
encountered in their research fields - preferably based on case
studies. The arrangements can cover a specific subject and involve a
lecture with discussion and presentation of possible ISCC
participation. Also external research institutions or groups may be
visited. For a discussion of your needs or ideas please use the
Contact us form and make an arrangement.
