Analysis and Re-Design of Farmaceutisk Grovrensning System

Georgij Vasilev

AbstractThe goal of the project is to investigate and redesign the Farmaceutisk Grovrensning System used by Novo Nordisk Diabetes Care group as a tool for insulin yield calculations. The primary success criterion is to reduce time consumption during operation of the system, especially during data entry.

Structured Systems Analysis and Design Methodology is used to analyze the system behaviour, produce diagrams of the processing and specify requirements. The Data Flow Modelling and Logical Data Modelling are used as key techniques under the system investigation.

During the investigation have been identified the existing shortcomings and presented the possible solutions along with a benefits and impact analyses. The set of solutions are composed as Business System Options.

Implementation of the selected BSO includes creating a physical database design and a set of program specifications. The result of implementation is presented as a prototype system.

The prototype testing includes unit test, integration test and system test. Data from PI test server 10.10.45.216 is used to test automatic data entry. The tests have shown that the system implements all algorithms and operation as expected.

The introducing of the new functionality allows significant reduce time spent during manual data entry and reduce also quantity of errors made by the operators.
