    abstract     = "In this work we present for the first time a centrifugal microfluidic system for the detection of proteins in blood using a low cost (< 10\$) blu-ray pickup head for detection. The detection method is based on functionalized paramagnetic nanobeads using a magneto-optical principle. This is platform is very well suited for low-cost point-of-care applications."
