Here, I will present the experimental setup and characteristic parameters of the illumination source – a SuperK (super-continuum) light source with attached {AOTF} crystal for spectral filtering. We have acquired preliminary results for milk analysis, and I will introduce the type of images we have recorded and the data analysis that are currently performed. This illustrates the principle of the broadband characterization for food characterization. In addition to the experimental description I will sketch the different areas that are currently explored in the Centre for Imaging Food Quality, which is the project is associated with. One direction of the project is to implement {NIR} imaging (1 um - 2.5 um) in the same analysis. Other research areas include data analysis, theory for relating scattering to material properties and application of the set-up for industrial food inspection." }
