| Abstract | This thesis describes the development of a mobile application, which main purpose is to work as an indoor navigation system. In the analysis part it has been examined which mobile platform and positioning method that are best suitable for this case, in developing a mobile application for indoor positioning. A description of an useable application that works as a indoor positioning system, despite of some uncertainty, is made. This includes a description of a chosen positioning method, WLAN fingerprinting and the use of an online database. Furthermore follows a description of the implementation of the necessary functions, the setup of the development environment, the mobile phone and the server along with the testing of the application. Several tests have been performed, which show the possible precision of a positioning and the changes in the strength of the signal from the access points. The mobile application is developed with the aid of a DTU campus case and with the intend that it will work as an indoor navigation and as a calibration tool. | Type | Bachelor thesis [Academic thesis] | Year | 2012 | Publisher | Technical University of Denmark, DTU Informatics, E-mail: reception@imm.dtu.dk | Address | Asmussens Alle, Building 305, DK-2800 Kgs.
