The real-time specification for Java and safety-critical Java introduce the model of scoped memory for temporal storage without a garbage collector. The resulting memory model needs to preform access checks at each reference assignment. This check is quite expensive when implemented in software. In this project the check shall be implemented in hardware (VHDL) in the context of the Java processor JOP.
