DTUsat-2 is the next DTU student satellite expected to be launched in 2010 or 2011. The scientific mission of the satellite is to collect information about bird migration (see www.dtusat.dtu.dk).
In case of any anomalies on the satellite, it will enter a so-called Fail-Safe mode where it may be operated from ground using a simple command/response protocol.
In this project an application for controlling the satellite in fail-safe mode should be developed. The application should be able to issue simple interactive commands as well as running prepared commands scripts and perform higher-level operations like software upload.
The control application should be inplemented in a platform independent language, eg. Java
