DTUsat-2 is the next DTU student satellite expeceted to be launched in 2010. The scientific mission of the satellite is to collect information about bird migration (see www.dtusat.dtu.dk).
For this mission, a graphical satellite monitoring interface is needed. The interface should allow an operator to inspect selected system variables in any given time interval using a relevant graphical representations. This could involve using 3D graphics showing eg. the attitude of the satellite or its temperature distribution.
The monitoring system must interface to the existing Mission Control Centre storing all satellite data. The system must be inplemented in Java using RMI for communication with the server. For 3D graphics OpenGL may be used.
