Master in Computational and Applied Mathematics
Mathematics and Scientific Computing
Application of mathematics in the analysis, modelling and solution of
complex problems typically involve advanced mathematical techniques,
computer simulations and methods for optimization, data analysis
and visualization. The development and use of these models requires
a combination of modern mathematics and numerical analysis, as well as
computer programming - collectively known as scientific computing.
This study line will provide the student with a solid understanding
of the underlying abstract and applied mathematical tools, as well as
techniques that provide the necessary basis for the modelling of the
problems and the design of efficient computer algorithms. The basis of
the study can be problems from other areas of the technical sciences as
well as more theoretical problems.
